My small contribution to help Ukraine
I am not the type who just waits, does nothing and hopes that the illegal war of Putin against Ukraine will pass - it won't! Our democracy in Europe is in question. Democracy doesn't exist for free - you have to fight for it!
Only the Russian people can stop Putin. However, as is well known, they are deliberately disinformed by the Russian regime about the invasion and the war in Ukraine.
A true Swiss UNESCO World Heritage Landscape
The following pictures were taken yesterday during a train ride with the Bernina Express from Chur through the Engadine to Poschiavo, near the Italian border. An absolut fantastic journey through a winter landscape which has rightly been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Cheetahs of Phinda
These pictures of two cheetah brothers were taken during our last trip to South Africa in February 2000 at Phinda Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal.
Okonjima - Home of the AfriCat Foundation Namibia
For generations, the Hanssen Family had been avid cattle farmers until the need for solutions to increasing livestock losses and post-independence interest in Namibia as a tourist destination, changed the face of Okonjima, as well as that of Carnivore Conservation.
One Lens - One Week: Fujinon GF 80mm f/1.7 R WR
Last year I bought some lenses with fixed focal lengths, which in my opinion are currently among the best lenses on the market. They are lenses that all create a special character in the image resolution and color rendering and are also fun to photograph with. At the beginning of the year 2022, I have therefore set myself a challenge.
Season's Greetings from Prättigau
Nature does not need to make an effort to be significant. It is!
In these challenging times, it's important to refocus on the important things in life at the end of the year - spending lots of time with family, friends and pets at home and in nature.
Bern - UNESCO World Heritage
Founded in 1191, Bern’s Old Town is an urban gem without equal. This is why it was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
Now it's really getting serious
After a break of about five months, the filming for another episode of "My pretty Prättigau" will start next week. This time with the young, talented and very ambitious biathlete Lea Meier from Stels in Prättigau.
No - it's not a Sony/Columbia crossover promo shoot!
…But it could be! This opinion is not me, but participants of the indie filmmaker Facebook group "Sony FX6" think that...
TTArtisan vintage manual lenses - The holy trinity for the Fujifilm X-Series
TTArtisan has only been around since 2019, but in those two years they've created quite a buzz with their affordable, manual fixed-focus lenses. At first there were only M-mount lenses, but in the meantime there are also APS-C lenses with a mount for Fujifilm X-series cameras. I took a closer look at the three small lenses with focal lengths of 17mm, 35mm and 50mm. Mind you - these three fast lenses together cost less than 250 USD!
Triumph Bonneville Bud Ekins Special Edition
He was a Hollywood stuntman and one of the world‘s greatest motocross and desert racers – Bud Ekins. The native Californian became immortal as a stunt double of his friend Steve McQueen in the 1962 Hollywood classic „Broken Chains“.
The Engadin - First signs of winter coming
The Engadin, possibly derived from En, the Rhaeto-Romanic name of the river Inn) is a high valley in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It is one of the highest inhabited valleys in Europe and more than 80 km long.
The light collector - Sony FE 400mm f2.8 GM OSS
After using the Sony FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS in Namibia in 2019, I replaced it in 2020 with the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS, which was used in South Africa in February 2020. Both lenses did not convince me 100%. Therefore, I have now purchased the Sony FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS.
Sacrario di Redipuglia
The military memorial Sacrario di Redipuglia (Sredipolje in Slovenian) is located in the municipal area of Fogliano Redipuglia (province of Gorizia-Gorizia). It is the largest war memorial in Italy and was built according to the plans of architect Giovanni Greppi and sculptor Giannino Castiglioni and inaugurated in 1938.
New Video Trailer made for Dionysius Photography
Dionysius Hungerbühler is a Swiss photographer for architecture / interior, business portraits, event photography, wedding, portrait and people.
I have known Dionysius for a few years as a talented and dedicated photographer.
I created a one minute video trailer for him - it's a kind of elevator pitch - loosely based on "tell me in one minute why I should book you!"
San Francisco? New York? Seewis! - Peter Aebli in "Mein hübsches Prättigau"
