Bei einem Vollmond im April spricht man auch vom «Rosa Mond». Dies hat jedoch nichts mit der Farbe des Mondes zu tun. Es gibt verschiedene Erklärungen dazu. Eine davon schliesst auf die Ureinwohner Nordamerikas zurück. Diese sollen den Vollmond im April «Pink Moon» genannt haben, weil zu dieser Jahreszeit die pinke Blume Phlox blüht.
