Göta Canal - Sweden's Blue Ribbon
The Göta Canal is often referred to as Sweden's blue ribbon. The 19th century canal connects Lake Vänern in western Sweden with Lake Vättern and ends - or begins, depending on how you look at it - on the east coast.
Lake Vänern - the charm of sweden starts here
Bike tour along Lake Vänern to Spiken and Läckö Strand near Läckö Slott. The charm of sweden starts here!
Tokyo - Die stille Megacity
Ålesund, Norway - it's just not Trondheim...
In my opinion, Ålesund cannot offer the charm of Trondheim, and the reason lies mainly in the city's architecture. The houses in Ålesund are all made of stone, unlike the wooden houses in Trondheim. This has a historical reason.
Norway's Trondheim - more than Bakklandet
The oldest of Norway’s major cities, traces of Trondheim’s rich heritage can be seen all over the city center. While it was founded at the end of the Viking Age, it’s still associated with the Vikings and was the religious center of northern Europe during the Middle Ages.
Dog sledding in Tromsø, Norway
Based just outside Tromsø city and within the Arctic Circle, we had a unforgettable morning at Villmarkssenter on a dog sled pulled by wonderful Alaskan huskies in a fresh snowy area.
Norway - Twilight zone - (Teaser 2)
Short teaser about Svolvær, Lofoten, Norway in December 2023.
This is only a little teaser about a trip with an expedition ship from Hamburg to the North Cape, along the old postal route of Norway.
Honningsvåg - North cape, Norway
One of Europe’s most stunning natural sights, Nordkapp, or the North Cape, rises on the island’s rugged northern coast and offers breathtaking views over the sea from a 1,000-foot plateau. Gigantic wonders exist under the sea, too, as the region’s King Crab fishermen will attest.
Svolvaer - Lofoten
On the lofoten islands there is no sunlight during several months in winter. During a few hours a day only blue hours with pink colors illuminating the snow-white covered mountains - a paradise for photographers. Best time to capture the optimal light is in December around midday.
Norway - Twilight zone (part 1)
Here I write in loose sequence and also not in the correct chronological order about our trip with an expedition ship from Hamburg to the arctic North Cape, along the old postal route of Norway.
Leica M11: Hamburg
Before our expedition ship voyage with Hurtigruten Expeditions to the North Cap, we spent another night in Hamburg. Here are a few impressions of the Speicherstadt, the harbour and the Elbphilharmonie, captured with the Leica M11 and the Summicron 35mm f/2.0.
Dolomites - the beauty of a rough landscape
Rough mountains and spectacular rock formations - this is how the Dolomites present themselves, a mountain range in the Southern Limestone Alps that was formed more than 200 million years ago.
Leica Q2 meets landscape - a good combo!
We have just returned from our trip to the south of France and on the way back we made a detour to Piedmont in Italy. For such short trips, my Leica Q2 is just perfect for capturing the landscape.
The Bokeh Painter - Sony FE 400mm F2,8 GM OSS
There are some Sony fixed focal lengths that are already legendary, such as the 135mm f/1.8 GM or the new 50mm f/1.2 GM. In my opinion, the Sony FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS pushes into completely new spheres.
