Like Melbourne, Vancouver and Zurich, Durban is the city of choice for its country’s citizens seeking the best quality of life. Surprised? You shouldn’t be. As visitors are now discovering, fun-loving ‘Durbs’ is not only the gateway to the natural wonders of KwaZulu-Natal, but also a place to savour Indian Ocean beaches, cosmopolitan cuisine, culture and outdoor adventures.
Durban is the starting point of our 15 days trip to the KwaZulu-Natal region.
KwaZulu-Natal is part of nine provinces in South Africa
KwaZulu-Natal, a province on the east coast of South Africa, is known for its beaches, mountains and savannahs with big game. The safari destination of Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park in the north-east is home to black and white rhinos, lions and giraffes. The Indian-influenced port city of Durban is popular with surfers. Open-air museums around Eshowe convey the traditions of the local Zulu people.
