Street Photography with Leica SL and Leica Summicron 50mm f2.0

The Leica SL-Body is ideal for use exclusively with manual Leica M lenses. And it works great, it is without a doubt the best mirrorless camera as a platform for M-glass. There are no compromises, the huge viewfinder makes focusing manual lenses a breeze. Even without magnification or other focusing aids.

The Leica Store Zurich provided me with a Leica SL (Type 601) and a current Summicron 50mm f/ 2.0 (Version 5) for testing purposes. I took the opportunity to do some test shots with this combination in the streets of Zurich, Switzerland.

Originally I wanted to test the combination Leica M 10-P with the Summicron 50mm. But after the test shoots with the SL it was clear to me - despite the bigger body, the SL has more advantages for my kind of photography than the Leica M 10-P.

I am especially surprised by the Summicron 50mm f/2.0. Despite "only" a maximum aperture of 2.0 compared to the Summilux 50mm f/1.4, the Summicron produces a very special bokeh. Is this the famous and notorious Leica look?
